Andrzej Laskowski – art historian, PhD in humanities (2005), a graduate of the Jagiellonian University. Assistant Professor at the Department of Economic and Social History / UNESCO Chair for Heritage and Urban Studies at the Cracow University of Economics. Head specialist at the Kraków branch of the National Heritage Institute (NID). His research interests extend to the history of architecture and urban development, cultural heritage protection, and the art of stained glass making in south-eastern Poland in the 19th and 20th centuries. Author and editor of numerous works, articles, and books, notably Jasło w dobie autonomii galicyjskiej. Miasto i jego przestrzeń (2007), and Budując system. Ochrona zabytków sakralnych w diecezji tarnowskiej na przełomie XIX i XX wieku (2020), co-author of a monographic work on the wooden parish church in Binarowa which is listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List (2004). Winner of two competitions organised by the General Heritage Preservation Officer and the Heritage Conservation Society (2006, 2019); honored with the “Honoris Gratia” badge awarded by the Mayor of the City of Cracow for his contribution to the city (2024). Member of the Polish National Committee of ICOMOS and the Association of Art Historians. Co-editor of the important trade journal [“SKZ Conservation News”].
